The Rating Interface
Understand how the rating interface works, including keyboard shortcuts and navigation.
Overview
The rating interface is where evaluators view experiences and submit their ratings. For SxS evaluations, both experiences are displayed side by side. For SSE evaluations, a single experience is shown.
Rating Controls
Each dimension appears as a rating row with a scale (typically 1-5 or 1-7). Click on a rating value or use keyboard shortcuts to select a score. You can also add optional text comments for each dimension.
Keyboard Shortcuts
- Number keys 1-7: Select a rating for the current dimension
- Tab / Shift+Tab: Move between dimensions
- Enter: Submit ratings when all dimensions are rated
- Escape: Close the rating panel
Experience Viewer
The experience viewer shows screenshots or embedded URLs. You can zoom in and out, and scroll to inspect details. In SxS mode, a divider separates the two experiences, and you can drag it to resize the split view.
If randomized presentation is enabled, Experience A and B may swap positions between evaluators to reduce position bias.
